What is unique about me?

Unit 3: What’s It All About?
Session 1: Who Am I?
Lesson Passage: Read Genesis 1:26; Psalm 8

“I am special.” It’s not an empty mantra that you can hope will come true if you repeat it enough times; you really are special! God made you unique from the rest of creation by giving you the ability to reflect His holy character. He showed how much you matter to Him when He honored you, placing you only a little lower than Himself! And He entrusted all that He made into your hands, giving you holy authority and purpose.

So what will you do with the knowledge that you are a person of great worth to the One who matters most? Redefining significance and success starts with a true understanding of who we are. But it cannot end there. Our knowledge must turn to satisfaction and contentment if we are to be a people who truly reflect God’s glory.

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO ME?

Nothing can change the truths God set in place when He created the world. You are special, not because of what you do or how much you have. You are valuable because Almighty God created you uniquely and honored you with special purpose. Today’s verses make it clear that only God defines our worth. The following questions will help you apply this lesson to your life.

If someone asked you how a believer should define significance and success, what would you say?
